As protests gathered and petitions were signed, the Black Lives Matter movement gained momentum among old and young alike. This discussion was mainly targeted to older students in grades 8 to 12. We started off with a presentation with background information about the movement, such as when and how it started. We encouraged our participants to be open-minded and capable of reevaluating their standpoints. After the powerpoint, we opened up the floor to discuss topics such as ACAB, rioting and looting, “All Lives Matter,” and the media coverage. This conversation was able to provide our participants with varying perspectives.
