EXTRA SPECIAL ACTIVITY ALERT! This activity was a collaboration with Mr. Jayneesh, an art teacher all the way from India! He taught us how to paint a cactus bookmark using acrylic paints while mixing colors to get the perfect shades. We were able to make the desert sand opaque (not able to be seen through -- thanks Genna for defining it for us!) by painting multiple layers and using even brush strokes. We learned that we can add extra details on our cacti (plural of cactus) using pens, after our painting dries of course!
